The case was filed by Md Baker, 52, father of Ahadul Islam, a protester who was injured on 19 July in Dhaka's Meradia Bazaar area
An attempted murder case has been filed against 180 individuals, including Ain O Salish Kendra Chairman ZI Khan Panna, in connection with the attack on a young protester on 19 July.
Daud Hossain, officer-in-charge of Khilgaon Police Station, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
"No one has been arrested yet in the case," he said.
The case was filed by Md Baker, 52, father of Ahadul Islam, a protester who was injured on 19 July in Dhaka's Meradia Bazaar area.
According to the case statement, members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), police and activists of the 14-party alliance started shooting and throwing cocktails at the protestors.
"Around 4:30pm, Ahadul, along with numerous other students, was shot in the left leg and fell on the street. He was subsequently taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital [DMCH] for treatment," says the statement.
The statement also said Ahadul was intimidated while undergoing treatment at DMCH and was later transferred to Barishal's Mehendiganj Upazila Health Complex, considering his safety.
The statement also mentioned that he received treatment at the health complex for 14 days.
ZI Khan Panna, a Supreme Court lawyer, was a member of the National Mass Inquiry Commission formed by citizens on 29 July to probe gross violations of laws, human rights and loss of lives during the student-led mass protests.
