ACC sues ex-Feni-2 MP Nizam, cricketer Durjoy over amassing illegal wealth thru power abuse
Nizam's 82 bank accounts show evidence of suspicious and abnormal transactions of Tk548.8 crore, says ACC
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed cases against former member of parliament (MP) of Feni-2 Nizam Uddin Hazari and former Bangladesh cricket captain Naimur Rahman Durjoy, who was also an MP of Manikganj-1 constituency, over illegal wealth accumulation through abuse of power.
The cases were filed today (18 December), said Md Akhtar Hossain, ACC's director general (prevention).
He said Nizam Hazari's 82 bank accounts showed evidence of suspicious and abnormal transactions amounting to Tk548.8 crore.
Additionally, a case has been filed against him for illegally acquiring assets worth Tk18.72 crore.
Meanwhile, the case against Naimur Rahman Durjoy was filed for illegally acquiring assets worth Tk11.21 crore.
