10 'muggers' held in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur
Tipped off, RAB conducted separate drives in Mohammadpur and Adabor areas of the capital last night (24 January) and arrested the muggers along with some sharp weapons
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate drives have arrested 10 suspected muggers along with sharp weapons from Dhaka's Mohammadpur and Adabor areas.
The arrestees were Mehedi alias Mehedi, 28, Md Mainuddin 22, Md Sharif alias Mohon, 30, Md Moin Ali, 20, Ahmed Amit, 22, Md Masum, 34, Md Chanu Mia, 28, Md Shahin, 27, Md Ibrahim Khalil, 22 and Akash, 19.
Tipped off, RAB conducted separate drives in Mohammadpur and Adabor areas of the capital last night (24 January) and arrested the muggers along with some sharp weapons, said Khan Asif Tapu, assistant superintendent of police (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Mehedi was the prime accused in a robbery case and had long been involved in different criminal activities including that of mugging, drug trade and extortion.
