17 Expatriates fined for violating home quarantine
Ten of them were fined on Thursday and seven on Wednesday
Seventeen people were fined in nine districts on Wednesday and Thursday for violating 14-day home quarantine rules in various districts including Manikganj, Jhalokati, Jamalpur, Munshiganj, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Barisal, Bhola and Satkhira.

In Manikganj, a mobile court fined two expatriates. Sources at the District Corona Prevention Committee said a young man had returned from South Africa on March 10. He was fined Tk 10,000 for refusing to stay under home quarantine. On March 14, a woman who came from Lebanon was fined Tk 5,000 for the same violation.
They were fined by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Iqbal Hossain who led the mobile court.
In Jhalokathi, in separate raids, three expatriate returnees were fined Tk 25,000 for being out of their home on Thursday. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sohag Howlader led the mobile court.
One of them had come from Oman and the other from Kuwait on March 13, another expatriate returned from the Netherlands on March 6.
In Jamalpur, a Saudi Arabia returnee was fined Tk 5,000. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tamim Al Yameen, fined the person for violating quarantine rules on Thursday. The person returned to Bangladesh a week ago.
In Munshiganj, two expatriates, one from Singapore and the other from the United Arab Emirates, were fined Tk 15,000 by a mobile court. The court also gave one-month imprisonment to the father of one of expatriates in Sadar upazila of the district.
Ashraful Kabir, executive magistrate led the mobile court and fined them in separate operations on Thursday.
In Chittagong, a mobile court led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Masudur Rahman fined a 42-year-old United Arab Emirates returnee Tk 10,000 for violating home quarantine rules on Thursday. He returned to Bangladesh on March 9.
In Cox's Bazar on Thursday, a mobile court led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanvir Hossen fined a Malaysia returnee Tk 10,000 for being out of his home. He came to Bangladesh on March 17.
In Barishal, on Wednesday a mobile court led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ziaur Rahman fined two expatriates Tk 10,000 each.
In Bhola, a mobile court led by Deputy Commissioner Masood Alam Siddique fined three expatriates on Wednesday. Two of them were fined Tk 20,000 and another person was fined Tk 5,000 for being out of their home.
In Satkhira, two people were fined by mobile courts. One, a Maldive returnee, was fined Tk 10,000 while the other, a Kuwait returnee, was fined Tk 5,000 on Wednesday.
The mobile courts were led by Deputy Commissioner SM Mostafa Kamal and Upazila Nirbahi Officer ANM Abuja Gifari.
