ACC seeks Shahed’s information from 9 organisations
The ACC sent a letter to the DGHS, seeking information and attested documents related to the work order issued to and the MoU signed with the Regent Hospital
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sent letters to nine organisations, including the health directorate and Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), seeking documents to probe against Md Shahed alias Shahed Karim, the owner of Regent Hospital and chairman of the Regent Group.
Abu Bakar Siddique, deputy director of the ACC and team leader of the inquiry team, sent these letters on Tuesday.
ACC Director and Spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed it to The Business Standard.

The ACC said it sent a letter to the director general of the Directorate General of Health Services, seeking information and attested documents related to the work order issued to and the MoU signed with the Regent Hospital.
In the letter sent to the BFIU, the ACC sought information of Shahed, his family members, his company's bank accounts and transaction details.
The ACC team also sought information from a few banks that have Shahed's data. It also wrote letters to the National Board of Revenue and Bangladesh Police.
Earlier, a three-member team led by Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique was formed to start an inquiry against Shahed.
Two branches of the Regent Hospital were sealed off for allegedly faking Covid-19 test certificates and over other irregularities. Shahed has been on the run since law enforcers have started raiding his organisations.
