CID arrests kingpin of a women trafficking gang
The accused Pratik raped a 14-year-old girl, at a house in Benapole border with the help of his associates while trying to trafficking her to India
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police has arrested the ringleader of a women trafficking gang in a case filed over his alleged involvement in women trafficking and repression.
The arrestee is Mohemunizzaman Pratik Khandaker, 26, said a press release.
He was arrested from Chattogram. Pratik was on the run.
Earlier, on November 26, 2019, a case was filed against him under the Prevention of Women and Children Repression Act 2000 and Human Trafficking Prevention Act 2012 with Shabujbag Police Station.
Victims's mother Shaila Parvin filed the case.
As per the investigation of the case, the accused Pratik raped a 14-year-old girl, at a house in Benapole border with the help of his associates while trying to trafficking her to India on Novermer 23, 2019. Police recovered the girl from the house.
Earlier, police arrested other two accused in the case and sent them to jail.
