Man who fired at students with AK-47 in Ctg during protests arrested from Noakhali
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested the man who opened fire with an AK-47-like rifle on students during the recent protests at Tin Poler Matha in Chattogram.
A joint team from RAB-7 and RAB-11 apprehended Solaiman Badsha from the Sonaimuri area of Noakhali on Wednesday (18 September) at midnight, Lt Col Munim Ferdous, director of RAB's Legal and Media Wing, informed the media through a press release on Thursday (19 September).
He said Solaiman Badsha was arrested on charges of firing an AK-47-like rifle at students on 4 August. "Further legal action in this regard is pending."
The Business Standard published an investigative story titled "Catch this killer," revealing the identity of Solaiman Badsha on 27 August. Following the report, RAB began operations to locate and arrest him.
Earlier on 5 August , The Business Standard published a photograph where Badsha was seen shooting at the students.
