Customs recover gold worth Tk10 cr at Ctg airport
The gold bars weighed 17.4 kg
A National Security Intelligence (NSI) team and customs detectives of Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram recovered 150 abandoned gold bars worth Tk10 crore on Monday morning.
Chittagong Custom House Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rokhsana Khatun told The Business Standard, "The gold bars weighed 17.4 kg. The estimated value is about Tk10 crore."
According to NSI sources in charge of the airport, 50 gold bars were found wrapped in tape from the back panel of Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG127 flight from Abu Dhabi.
However, none was arrested in this incident.
