DC Billal replaces Tanvir as security in-charge of secretariat

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has reassigned M Tanvir Ahmed, who was in charge of the security division at Bangladesh Secretariat, as the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Public Order Management (POM) of the South Division.
Mohammad Billal Hossain has been appointed as the new DC responsible for security at the secretariat.
A DMP office order, signed by its Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali was issued on Sunday (29 December) in this regard following a devastating fire that broke out at the Building-7 at the secretariat in the early hours of 25 December.

A total of 19 firefighting units doused the flame after 10 hours of frantic efforts at 8:05am on December 25.
