Desh TV MD Arif on 2-day remand in murder attempt case

A court today (17 November) placed Desh TV Managing Director (MD) Arif Hasan on a two-day remand in a case lodged with the capital's Airport Police Station over allegedly attempting to murder Sajib.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahin Reza passed the order as police produced Arif, also the general secretary of Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO), before the court and pleaded to place him on a three-day remand.

According to the case documents, Sajib was shot in front of the Scholastica School in Uttara on 19 July while he was taking part in the Anti-discrimination Student Movement in the area.
His father later filed the case with the Airport Police Station.
