Red Crescent office in Cox's Bazar attacked and vandalised
It has been alleged that the attack was carried out by candidates of the 9 January annual elections of the unit.
Some miscreants on Thursday attacked and vandalised Bangladesh Red Crescent Society's Cox's Bazar district unit office.
Two persons have been injured and Four CCTV cameras and monitors of the unit office were vandalised in the attack. It has been alleged that the attack was carried out by candidates of the 9 January annual elections of the unit.
Cox's Bazar District Red Crescent Unit Assistant Junior Director Ajrul Uddin Sardar alleged that the attack was led by election candidates Mosharraf Hossain Dulal, Shahinul Haque Marshal and former general secretary Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal.

He alleged that the attackers snatched mobile phones, hard disks and laptops from people in the office and deleted documents from them. Police later came to the spot and recovered the looted items but did not take any action against the attackers.
Ajrul Uddin said, "These candidates threatened me multiple times before. I went to Cox's Bazar Model Police Station to file a complaint about this, but the police refused to lodge down my complaint."
Khorshed Alam, general secretary of the Red Crescent Cox's Bazar district unit, said, "There is opportunities to take legal action if anyone disagrees about the election process. But they carried out terrorist style attacks instead. It is very sad and reprehensible."
The Business Standard tried to reach the accused through phone calls but they did not receive them.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox's Bazar Model Police Station Sheikh Munir-ul-Gias said, "No complaint has been received in this regard yet. Legal action will be taken as soon as complaint is filed."
Asked about the complaint of Red Crescent officer Ajrul Uddin, the OC said, "He came to the police station but he left without making complaint due to indecision. The allegation is not true."
