Doctor's body found under hospital elevator

Police recovered the dead body of a doctor from under the elevator of the Mamata Specialised Hospital at Kalibari Road in Barishal on Tuesday morning.
MA Azad Sajal, 45, was a senior consultant in the Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. He was from Swarupkathi in Pirojpur district. Dr MA Azad lived in a room on the sixth floor of the Mamata Specialised Hospital.
Barishal Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (South), Md Moktar Hossain, said, "One of the boys found the body under the lift and informed the hospital, who then informed the police. The police are investigating the death."

The deputy commissioner said, "The incident does not look like he fell off the elevator. This does not seem like a normal accident either. There are also marks of injuries on the legs of the corpse. The dead body is being examined. The investigation and autopsy will reveal whether it is a murder or an accident."
