After meeting the queen, Jharna said: “The queen is delighted with my success, and assured me of continued support in the future.”
Dutch Queen Máxima on Wednesday evening paid a visit to Jharna Fabrics & Fashion House at Tongi, Gazipur, and met its owner Jharna Islam.
After meeting the queen, Jharna said: “The queen is delighted with my success, and assured me of continued support in the future.”
A crowd of people from nearby areas gathered near the fashion house to have a glance of Queen Máxima, who had previously visited the fashion house in 2015.
“Adequate measures were taken to avoid any unpleasant incident during the queen’s visit. Senior officials of the detective branch imposed strict surveillance in Dattapara area for the past week. More than 500 members of the police, RAB (Rapid Action Battalion) and BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) were present in the area,” said Officer-in-Charge of Tongi (East) police station Kamal Hossain.
Gazipur City Mayor Advocate Jahangir Alam, Deputy Commissioner SM Tariqul Islam and Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Anwar Hossain were present there along with several senior officials of Brac.
