Won't hinder proposals related to power, energy: Finance adviser
These proposals are now being cleared quickly by the Economic Affairs Committee and Purchase Committee regardless of any constraints, he said
The government does not want to obstruct proposals related to power and energy, alongside proposals for procuring LNG, fertiliser and pesticides, as those are important affairs, Finance Advisor Dr Saleh Uddin Ahmed said today (10 September).
These proposals are now being cleared quickly by the Economic Affairs Committee and Purchase Committee regardless of any constraints, he told reporters after chairing the Advisers Council Committee meeting on Government Purchase held at the Finance Division Conference Room in the Bangladesh Secretariat.
Replying to another question on when the power and energy situation would return to normalcy, the finance adviser suggested raising the question before the adviser concerned.
Meanwhile, the committee approved separate proposals for procuring some 25,000 metric tons of rock phosphate and 40,000 metric tons of MOP fertiliser to meet growing demand in the country
Saleh Uddin said the rock phosphate would be procured for the Triple Super Phosphate Complex Limited.
In response to another proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture on MOP fertiliser, he said it would be procured from Canadian Commercial Corporation under the fifth lot for Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC).
