Ex-IGP Mamun on 3-day remand in garment worker murder case

A court today (25 November) placed former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on a three-day remand in a case lodged over the murder of garment worker Fazlul Karim during the July- August mass uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman passed the order as police produced the former IGP before the court and pleaded to place him on a 10-day remand in the case.
Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun was arrested on September 3.
Fazlul Karim got shot on 5 August as he was taking part in the mass uprising in the Uttara area.
He was rushed to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital and later died from his injuries.
His brother filed a case against 40 people in this regard.
