Gazipur Chemical factory fire kills 1
The deceased was identified as Masud Shikdar hailing from Kushonhati village under Dohar upazila
One person was killed and at least 12 others were injured in a fire at the chemical factory of Dhaka Garments and Washing Ltd in the south Bhangnahati area of Sreepur upazila in Gazipur.
The deceased was identified as Masud Shikdar hailing from Kushonhati village under Dohar upazila. He worked as a day labourer at the factory.
Sreepur Police Inspector (investigation) Imtiaz Mahfuz informed, "A fire broke out in the factory at around 10 am and it quickly got out of control. Some workers were injured while trying to put out the fire. They were taken to different hospitals in Dhaka and Mymensingh."

Md Abdul Hamid, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service, said, "The factory authorities extinguished the fire before the fire service reached the spot."
Gazipur Additional Superintendent of Police (Acting) AKM Zahirul Islam said, "A worker named Masum Shikdar was found dead in the fire. After recovering the body, it was sent to the morgue of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy. A case is being filed in this connection. "
