Govt to build 14000 houses for freedom fighters
The government is also working for preserving all the memorial relics related to the war of Liberation
The government will construct 14,000 houses for the insolvent freedom fighters.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque today said while addressing a rally on the occasion of 'Service Week-2021' in front of the ministry here.
Marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and golden jubilee of the independence, the government has taken the initiative of constructing housing for the insolvent freedom fighters, the minster disclosed it at the function organized by his ministry.
The government is also working for preserving all the memorial relics related to the war of Liberation, Haq said, "the ministry is preserving all killing fields of the war and frontier war spots." Preservation work of all the martyred freedom fighters graves is underway, he said.
Even the government is preparing the Suhrawardy Uddhyan, and the Mujibnagar, the memorial places of the liberation war, as the international standard memorial centers, he added.
Regarding the service provided by the liberation war affairs ministry, the minister said "all the services of the ministry are being rendered digitally to the subscribers, adding that all the information are available at the website of the ministry."
Any subscribers can apply for services of the ministry from any corner across the world, Haq told the rally and informed that recently the government is distributing honorarium of the freedom fighters to their respective bank accounts through delivering on the mobile phone messages from Bangladesh Bank.
All the necessary database software of the valiant freedom fighters has been included to Management Information System (MIS), he said.
Liberation War Affairs Secretary Tapan Kanti Gosh, valiant freedom fighters, employees from National Freedom Fighters Council (NFFC) and Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust (FFWT), among others, attended the rally.
