Dengue: 9 more die, 1,214 hospitalised
Among the fatalities, 8 were reported in Dhaka
Nine more deaths were reported from dengue in 24 hours till this morning (21 November), raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 436 this year.
In the recent fatalities, 3 were reported in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 5 in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), one in Rajshahi Division (outside of the city corporation).
During the period, 1,214 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A total of 84,368 dengue cases have been reported since 1 January.
Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
The DGHS recorded 321,179 dengue cases and 3, 18,749 recoveries last year.
