Indefinite strike begins at petrol pumps in 3 divisions
The strike has been enforced with 15-point charter of demands including increasing commission on petrol sales to at least 7 percent
Petrol Pump and Tank Lorry Owners-Workers Unity Council enforced indefinite strike in three divisions - Khulna, Rajshahi and Rangpur - from today morning to press home their 15-point demand including increasing commission on oil sale.
After visiting Mehera Filling Station of Bogura in the morning, some customers, who were not aware about the strike, were seen returning from the pump without fuel.
Saiful Islam, manager of the filling station, said, "We are not selling oil to the customers due to the ongoing strike. But we are selling gas."

President of Petrol Pump Owners' Association Monimul Haq said, "The strike is underway across the Rajshahi division. President of Bangladesh is now visiting Rajshahi. So, vehicles used in government service will get petrol until the president leave the city this afternoon."
Oil extraction and marketing at Padma, Meghna and Jamuna oil depots in Khulna also remained suspended. So supplying of fuel oil in 15 south-western districts including Khulna is halted, he added.
