Indian citizen killed in Chuadanga road accident
Tapan Biswash, 42, entered Bangladesh in the afternoon through Jaynagar check post on business purpose
An Indian national early today succumbed to his injuries he sustained in a road accident at Chuadanga's Darshana bus stand area on Friday night.
The deceased Tapan Biswash, 42, hailing from Ghola Yugbaria village of North 24 Parganas district in India entered Bangladesh in the afternoon through Jaynagar check post on business purpose.
"Tapan came to the bus stand from his hotel for having a cup of tea in the evening," said Damurhuda police station Officer-in-Charge Sukumar Biswas.
"A speedy sugarcane laden tractor ran him over while crossing the road to return to his hotel, leaving Tapan critically injured," said the OC.
Sukumar Biswash said local people took him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital around 10:30pm. Duty doctor declared Tapan dead around 2am.
The body of the deceased has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
An unnatural death case was filled with Damurhuda police station to this connection.
The body will be handed over after finishing the legal procedures, he added.
