JCD observes its founding anniversary
BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman will deliver a speech virtually as the chief guest
Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal (JCD) has celebrated its 46th founding anniversary today (1 January) with a series of programmes in the capital.
The day's events began at 11am with BNP leader Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, a member of the party's national standing committee, placing floral tributes, reciting prayers, and holding a munajat at the grave of late president Ziaur Rahman.
At noon, a blood donation drive organised in front of the Engineers Institution Auditorium, attended by BNP's National Executive Committee student affairs secretary Rakibul Islam Bakul as the chief guest.
The main event, an anniversary discussion, was held at 2pm at the Engineers Institution Auditorium.
BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman will deliver a speech virtually as the chief guest, while the party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will join as a special guest.
An inter-hall badminton competition will take place at Dhaka University halls this evening. Nationwide, JCD district, metropolitan, sub-district, and municipal units will organise vibrant rallies.
Additionally, tomorrow from 10am to 5pm, the Central JCD will host a football tournament featuring eight teams at Gulistan Stadium. Across the country, units will organise sports tournaments such as cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, or chess.
JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir extended revolutionary greetings to members on the occasion of the organisation's 46th anniversary.
Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal (JCD) was founded by Ziaur Rahman in 1979.
Recently, JCD announced new committees for 11 Dhaka-based units, including Jagannath University and Dhaka College.
