Based on this complaint, a murder case was registered today, and 1 was arrested.

Regarding the case's progress, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ashulia police station, Abu Bakkar Siddique, told TBS, "We have detained a local youth named Habibur Rahman, 24, for questioning in this case. Efforts are underway to arrest the accused. Sub-Inspector Alok Kumar De has been appointed as the investigation officer of this case."
Habibur Rahman is the former president of the Dhamrai Government College Chhatra League.
He was arrested early this morning (20 September) during a raid at his home in the Mokamtola neighborhood of Dhamrai Municipality
The accused include Md Ahsan Labib, a student of the 49th batch in the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering; Raju Ahmed, a 45th batch student in the Department of Government and Politics; Md Mahmudul Hasan Raihan, a 50th batch student in the Department of English; Jubayer Ahmed, a 44th batch student in the Department of History; Hamidullah Salman, a 49th batch student in the Department of English; Md Atikuzzaman, a 49th batch student in the Department of Management Studies; Sohag Mia, a 47th batch student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering; and Mohammad Rajan Mia, a 46th batch student in the Department of Government and Politics.
The complaint states that on 18 September at around 5:50pm, Shamim Molla, an alumnus from the 39th batch of the History Department, was attacked near the Prantik Gate of the university by a group of individuals.
Upon receiving the news, the university proctor and the proctorial team rushed to the scene and rescued Shamim, who was injured, taking him to the proctor's office for safety.
The complaint adds that while the proctor was communicating with the university administration and Ashulia police, some individuals forcibly took Shamim to the security office without informing the proctorial team.
Upon learning this, the proctor went to the security office, dispersed the crowd, and locked the collapsible gate to secure the area. He then requested the police to send a team and returned to his office to communicate with the authorities.
However, the complaint alleges that a group of individuals broke into the security office and assaulted Shamim again. Despite the proctorial team and security officials' efforts to stop them, Shamim sustained severe injuries.
When the police team arrived around 7:30pm, they found that Shamim had several previous cases filed against him at the Ashulia police station.
The proctorial team and security officials then escorted Shamim to a police vehicle, but his condition deteriorated on the way to Ashulia police station. He was rushed to Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
