‘Jute mills workers to get new wage structure within 15 days’

The decision was made at a meeting between the minister and leaders of the jute mill workers at the Jute Diversification Promotion Centre of the capital on Thursday.
A press release signed by the Chairman of Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation Md Abdur Rauf confirmed the matter.

During the meeting, Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi and State Minister for Labour and Employment Monnujan Sufian discussed the workers' 11-point demands with the leaders of CBA and non-CBA Sangram Parishad.
The 11-point charter of demands includes payment of outstanding wages of the jute mill workers and implementation of the wage commission.
The Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation urged the workers to return to their work.
