Son fulfills mother’s dream of flying soon after getting job
He first earned a living rickshaw-pulling at the age of 10
A young man has come forward to fulfill his mother's dream of flying after accepting a government job he was recently offered.
Shipon Roi, a graduate of Chittagong University's Bangla Department, boarded his mother on a plane for a journey from Dhaka to Chattagram, reports Prothom Alo.
Shipon first earned a living at the age of 10 by rickshaw-pulling. He went house to house to sell oil, crabs, vegetables, fish, and dried fish. Later, he worked at other people's houses, worked as a hairdresser, sold sticks made of wood and cow dung and cultivated crops leasing land. This time he also fulfilled his mother's dream.

Shipon's mother Giru Bala Roy has raised her children by working on other people's land and at houses. One of Shipon's brothers worked as a hairdresser, another brother drives a rickshaw. In fact, they have no land of their own. His father, Swapna Roy, used to work as a day labourer on people's land but died long ago. Meanwhile, one of Shipon's sisters is married.
Shipon wanted to be a teacher. He has been recommended to join a government secondary school in a result (special non-cadre) published by the Public Service Commission on Tuesday.
Giru Bala was a little scared boarding on the plane for the first time in her life, but there was a smile on her face, according to her son.
Shipon Roy told Prothom Alo on the telephone, "I have never seen my mother smile like that. On the one hand, I am going to be a teacher, on the other hand, the fulfilment of the dream of boarding a plane – all in all, I do not have the language to say the satisfaction I saw in my mother's eyes. I have never seen my mother smile like this in my whole life."
