Muhith prays for quick recovery of Pranab Mukherjee
Muhith said, I have been alarmed to receive the news of your illness and surgery
Former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has prayed for early recovery of former Indian president Pranab Mukherjee who recently tested positive for Covid-19.
In a message sent to Mukherjee's office today, Muhith said, "I have been alarmed to receive the news of your illness and surgery. I pray for your early recovery and better health while closely following your health updates."
"You have been a seasoned politician of our sub-continent. As far as Bangladesh is concerned, you have a special place in our peoples' hearts. The people of Bangladesh will always remain indebted to you for your meaningful contributions in deepening the historic ties of friendship between Bangladesh and India," he added.
Health condition of Pranab Mukherjee, who was put on ventilator support after a surgery on Monday, has been worsened.
The authority of the Army's Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital in Delhi made the disclosure on Tuesday.
Mukharjee got admitted to the military hospital with critical health condition on Monday noon and tested positive for coronavirus.
Later, he was found with a large brain clot for which he underwent emergency lifesaving surgery.
