His eldest son Jashim Uddin, Principal of Karnaphuli AJ CHowdhury Degree College, sought doa from all for the salvation of the departed soul.

The educationist was born on January 1, 1930 at Ahla Sadhar Para village of Boalkhali upazila in Chattogram.
He completed his Masters in English Literature from Chittagong University in 1968 as one of the students of the first batch.
Abul Kashem was the founding President of Boalkhali Upazila Teachers Association and founding Commissioner of Patiya Upazila Scouts.
