Lackeys of former dictatorship still in administration will lead country to dangerous path: Rizvi
The BNP leader reiterated the party's call for elections at the earliest
If the lackeys of the fallen dictatorship remain in different positions of the administration, they will lead the country to a dangerous situation, BNP Senior Joint General Secretary Ruhur Kabir Rizvi said today (8 October).
"Identify them quickly and replace them with those who were in favour of democracy, regardless of the party they support," he told journalists during a mass awareness campaign against dengue organised by BNP in the capital's Gulshan this afternoon.
Referring to Lalmonirhat assistant commissioner Tapashee Tabassum Urmi who was suspended for her remarks about the chief adviser and the interim government, Rizvi said, "There are people like her in various positions of the administration. We all know how the minions of this dictatorship in remote parts of the country will try to thwart the government borne out of mass uprising."
The BNP leader reiterated the party's call for elections at the earliest.
"The interim government must immediately implement the necessary reforms and move towards free and fair elections. They have to create the necessary ground for free and fair elections. But the time they need should not be prolonged," he said.
