A 55-year-old BNP leader died of cardiac arrest during the party's grand rally in the capital's Nayapaltan area today.

Mahmudur Rahman was a member of the convening committee of Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP.

He collapsed after falling sick during the rally.

Later, he was taken to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
