Protect cattle sellers from middleman: Minister
The Minister urged the divisional commissioners concerned to take care of the areas under their jurisdiction so that the panic of environmental pollution and unwanted situation do not arise with the management of animal skins and waste.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has urged all people concerned to be vigilant to protect both buyers and sellers of cattle from middlemen ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.
The minister said this at an online meeting on online buying and selling of cattle and transportation through trains in his office on Thursday.
SM Rezaul Karim said, "There should be no extortion in the transportation of cattle. Farmers and cattle sellers should not be harassed."

Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Raunak Mahmud, Director General of the Department of Livestock Dr Abdul Jabbar Sikder, Director General of the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute Dr Nathuram Sarkar, all the divisional commissioners and deputy directors of the Divisional Livestock Department participated in the meeting online.
