RAB becomes a trusted address to people: RAB DG
Chowdhury Mamun also warned of taking tougher action against human trafficking gangs
Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that RAB has become a trusted address to the people as it has worked tirelessly to recover drugs, arms, and eliminate terrorism as well as crime since its inception.
The RAB DG said this as the chief guest while inaugurating RAB-7's Crime Prevention Company-2 (CPC) office at Hathazari this afternoon.
Chowdhury Mamun also warned of taking tougher action against human trafficking gangs.
The RAB DG categorically said RAB is carrying out its regular activities amid the coronavirus outbreak and working against narcotics, militancy, terrorism and other criminal offenses across the country.
"I have received the cooperation of all in setting up the RAB CPC camp in Hathazari in the same way I want the cooperation of all while discharging responsibility in the area in the future," he added.
Members of CPC-2 Hathazari Camp of RAB-7 will work to curb crime in Rangamati area including Raozan, Rangunia, Hathazari, Fatikchhari, Kaptai of North Chatogram, he added.
RAB-7 commander Moshiur Rahman Jewel presided over the function while RAB Additional Director General (Operations) Colonel Tofail Mostafa Sarwar, Chattogram Range DIG KhandakerGolamFaruk, Additional DIG Md. Zakir Hossain Khan, Superintendent of Police Chattogram district SM Rashidul Haque and Hathazari Upazila Chairman SM Rashedul Alam, among others, were present on the occasion.
