Road accident kills 5 in Gopalganj

Five people were dead in a road accident as a bus full of passengers collided with a three-wheeler at Kashiani of Gopalganj district.

The accident took place at Pona bus stand area of Kashiani on Friday morning, reported Somoy Television.

The deceased are Badi (30), Mizan (43) and Sumon (28) of Paruali area of Kashiani. The other two are yet to be identified. They are all labourers working on a local construction project.

Police and the witnesses said the accident occurred when a passenger bus of Falguni Transport collided with the three-wheeler on the highway. One (Mizan) was spot dead and nine people were severely injured.

Later, police and members of fire service rescued the injured and took them to Kashiani Upazilla hospital where the other two died. The five severely injured labourers have been sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
