Japanese KDDI keen to invest in 5G network expansion
Welcoming the KDDI’s desire, Mustafa Jabber said the telecom sector of the country has become a trusted sector for foreign investment
Japanese second largest telecom company KDDI Corporation, has expressed its desire to invest in Bangladesh's digital technology sector, including 5G network, internet of things, and special economic zones and connectivity area.
Hiroyasu (Hiro) Morishita, general manager of KDDI's global ICT division, expressed his investment desire after a courtesy meeting with Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabber at the latter's office on Thursday.
Welcoming the KDDI's desire, Mustafa Jabber said the telecom sector of the country has become a trusted sector for foreign investment.
He urged the Japanese investors to invest in Bangladesh using the current investment environment.
"Investing in Bangladesh is highly profitable," he added.
Earlier in 2018, the minister invited the KDDI to invest in Bangladesh while he attended the Japan IT Week.
Responding to the minister's invitation, the KDDI representatives are visiting Bangladesh to find out the business prospect.
