Bangladesh Railway resumes selling tickets at stations from today
The trains are being operated at half capacity to ensure social distancing
Bangladesh Railways (BR) has started selling tickets through station counters from this morning after a two-month hiatus due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Tickets went on sale at all stations in the country, including the capital's Kamalapur railway station, from 8am today.

According to a notification issued by the Bangladesh Railway, 25 percent of the tickets are being sold at the counter, and the other 25 percent through online and a mobile app.
Unsold tickets can be purchased 48 hours before departure time, the notification added.
Besides, intercity train tickets can be returned with a refund.
Bangladesh Railway, meanwhile, has given some special instructions regarding the operation of train services in compliance with Covid-19 health guidelines, including selling tickets only for seats, no crowding at station counters, no passengers allowed to travel without a ticket, different doors to be used for entering and exiting the train and making masks mandatory to enter the station and travel by train.
Earlier on 5 April, the government suspended all passenger train services in the country. Later on 23 May, the service resumed as per the government directives to run at half the passenger capacity following safety measures.
