Battery-run van crushes 5-year-old boy in Rangpur

A minor child was killed after a battery-run three-wheeler van loaded with bricks ran him over at the Dhanshala Dakshinpara village on the Pirganj-Chatra road in Rangpur's Pirganj today (4 December).
"The tragic accident occurred when the three-wheeler hit the boy while he was crossing the road," Pirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) MA Faruk told BSS.
Locals rescued the seriously injured child and took him to Pirganj Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

"The deceased Mujahidul Islam, 5, is the son of Taherul Islam of Dhanshala Dakshinpara village," the OC said, adding a case has been filed in this connection.
