UNO’s health condition improving, no need to take abroad: Health Minister
The sensory level is 100 percent okay but she has pain in the head and her right hand will take more time to recover
Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that the condition of Dinajpur's Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer Wahida Khanam has improved.
"Right now it is not needed to take her abroad for further treatment." Zahid Maleque briefed about the current health condition after visiting her.
"We have started the physiotherapy and her condition is improving. Her health condition is stable including blood pressure level, pulse rate and oxygen saturation level, "according to a doctor's briefing at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital (NINH) today.
"The sensory level is 100 percent okay but she has pain in the head and her right hand will take more time to recover," the doctor briefed.
On early hours of Thursday, Dinajpur's Ghoraghat UNO Wahida Khanam and her father were attacked by some miscreants inside their house. They broke into her government residence through ventilator. Their guard was locked into another room.
They were initially admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition. However, on Thursday afternoon, the UNO was airlifted to Dhaka by a Bangladesh Air Force helicopter when her health condition started to deteriorate further.
A joint team of police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) later arrested four people including main accused of the attack on Wahida Khanam and her father.
