‘We want to bring fundamental changes in police’
IGP Benazir Ahmed said this on Saturday while addressing senior officials at the police headquarters on the 100th day of his tenure as the police chief
Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed on Saturday said they want to bring fundamental changes to Bangladesh Police as an organisation has to go through constant meaningful changes in order to survive.
"The mindset of accepting changes must be formed first in order to bring about beneficial changes. These goals cannot be achieved without concerted efforts and consensus," he said on Saturday while addressing senior officials at the police headquarters on the 100th day of his tenure as the IGP.
"We set many targets in the last 100 days. To achieve those, everyone has to work together," he added.
The policing system needs to be streamlined from now on with the upcoming future in mind, Benazir Ahmed further said.
Among others, additional inspector generals, heads of various units of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and senior officials of the police headquarters were present at the meeting.
