148 doctors succumb to Covid-19: BMA
According to a BMA estimation released earlier this month, over 8,000 health workers have been infected by the novel coronavirus
The latest data of the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) shows that 148 doctors have died from Covid-19 till Thursday.
Of them, the former head of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Eye Department Dr Fazlul Haque was the latest victim who breathed his last at around 12 pm today.
According to a BMA estimation released earlier this month, over 8,000 health workers have been infected by the novel coronavirus.
Until Thursday, the total death tally from the disease reached 10, 781 in Bangladesh and the total Covid-19 infection count is 7,36,074.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
