Former CAG Musilm Chowdhury appointed Sonali Bank chairman
In a separate order, the FID also appointed former finance secretary Zakir Ahmed Khan as the chairman of the Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF)
Former comptroller and auditor general (CAG) Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury has been appointed chairman of Sonali Bank.
Chowdhury, who is also a former finance secretary, has been appointed to the position with a three-year tenure from the date of his joining, according to a circular issued by the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance today (28 August).
In a separate order, the division also appointed former finance secretary Zakir Ahmed Khan as the chairman of the Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), the apex funding agency of micro credit operations in Bangladesh.
He has been appointed to the role for three years.
Meanwhile, the division has accepted the resignation letter of Janata Bank chairman SM Mahfuzur Rahman. He sent the letter on 22 August.
Agrani Bank Chairman Zaid Bakht and Investment Corporation of Bangladesh Chairman Suborna Barua has also sent their resignation letters to the division recently.
