Jahanara Begum made Agrani Bank general manager
Jahanara has previously served in the bank’s Foreign Trade Corporate Branch and as the deputy general manager and Head of the Tejgaon Corporate Branch
Jahanara Begum has been promoted to general manager of Agrani Bank PLC.
She was promoted through a notification signed by Afroza Akhter Riba, the deputy secretary of the finance ministry's Financial Institutions Division, on 9 January.
According to Agrani Bank, Jahanara has previously served in the bank's Foreign Trade Corporate Branch and as the deputy general manager and Head of the Tejgaon Corporate Branch with distinction and success.
Jahanara started her career by joining Agrani Bank in 1996 as a senior officer. In her long banking career, she held important positions in the Credit Policy and Credit Risk Management Division at the head office, Central Accounts Division, International Trade and Foreign Currency Management Division, Dhaka Circle-2, Corporate Branch, and manager of various branches and Branch Banking.
Jahanara completed her Bachelor's degree in Finance and Banking and Master's degree in Banking from Dhaka University.
She participated in various workshops and seminars on banking training at home and abroad over the years.
Born on 22 August 1971, Jahanara's ancestral home is in Barikandi village of Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria.
