National Bank MD, DMD resign
They stepped down as their terms have expired and no new appointments were offered to them, the bank’s chairman says
National Bank's Managing Director Md Touhidul Alam Khan and Deputy Managing Director Abdul Matin have resigned from their posts.
Speaking to The Business Standard this evening (26 January), Touhidul said he has stepped down for "purely personal reasons".
National Bank Chairman Abdul Awal Mintoo said, "According to the Bangladesh Bank's approval, Touhidul Alam Khan was to complete his term on 24 January. However, the MD submitted his resignation letter on 7 December."
"DMD Abdul Matin submitted his resignation letter in the middle of last month. Both of them were hired on contract basis. They are having to leave their positions as their terms have expired and no new appointments were offered to them," Mintoo added.
