The Department of Environmental Science of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), in collaboration with the University of Glasgow, hosted an impactful seminar and workshop today on 'Safe and Just Operating Space (SJOS) for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh.'
The seminar and workshop highlighted the importance of creating a sustainable and equitable framework for achieving Bangladesh's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and addressing environmental and social challenges. The event brought together leading academics, researchers, and policymakers to discuss and delve deeper into the strategies and solutions that can help Bangladesh create a safe and just operating space to achieve the SDGs. It allowed participants to engage in collaborative learning, share ideas, and build networks for driving change.
Experts from the University of Glasgow, Professor Md Sarwar Hossain and Mohammad Ali Nause Russel and the Former Director of the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM), Professor Dr A K M Saiful Islam, were present as panel speakers in the programme. The Director General of the Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) of Bangladesh, Dr Mohammad Abdul Latif, was present as the programme's Special Guest. Among other BUP high officials, teachers, officers, and students were also included in the programme.
