NCC Bank helps marginal farmers in Feni with free agricultural resources
NCC Bank has distributed agricultural materials and machinery free of cost among 1,000 flood-affected and marginal farmers of Chhagalnaiya, Feni Sadar, Parshuram, Fulgazi, Daganbhuiyan, and Sonagazi under a special CSR initiative in the agricultural sector.
Deputy Commissioner of Feni Saiful Islam, as chief guest, and Chairman of NCC Bank Md. Nurun Newaz Salim, as guest of honor, distributed various types of vegetable and rice seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and backpack spray machines among the marginal farmers at a ceremony held at Chhagalnaiya and Feni Sadar on Saturday, 30 November 2024. Managing Director of NCC Bank M. Shamsul Arefin presided over the ceremony, while Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) of Feni Avishek Das and Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Chhagalnaiya Subal Chakma graced the occasion as special guests.
Besides, Deputy Managing Director Md. Monirul Alam, Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, SVP of CRM Division Muhammad Shahidul Islam, SVP & Regional Head of South-East Region Mohammad Nurul Haque, Branch Manager of Feni Nurul Alam Chowdhury, along with Managers & Officers of Chhagalnaiya, Mohipal, Parshuram, and Laxmipur Branch of NCC Bank, were also present at the ceremony.
Deputy Commissioner of Feni Saiful Islam mentioned that this agricultural materials and machinery distribution activity is a great initiative of the Bank, saying that marginal farmers in the area will benefit from this, and food production will increase through these efforts. He thanked the NCC Bank authorities for helping the farmers.
Chairman of NCC Bank Md. Nurun Newaz Salim stated that NCC Bank is not only doing business for profit but also fulfilling its social responsibility. He highlighted that the Bank has been distributing various types of vegetable seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and machinery free of cost in different regions of the country to increase agricultural production. He expressed confidence that NCC Bank would also provide preservation facilities for crops and advanced technology-based agricultural machinery soon to further improve agricultural production.
Managing Director M. Shamsul Arefin remarked that NCC Bank is working towards ensuring food security in the country. He emphasized that the Bank's support for marginal farmers with agricultural materials and machinery across the country is part of its social responsibility. He believes this initiative will help marginal farmers cultivate various vegetable crops and increase their production.
