Southeast Universities economics department hosted Eco-Fest 2024-25
Southeast University's Department of Economics hosted Eco-Fest 2024-25 on 2nd January 2025, themed "Journey Together, Thrive Forever."
The festivities commenced with the inauguration by the Chief Guest, Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam PhD, Vice Chancellor of Southeast University.
The opening segment included visiting vibrant stalls showcasing student initiatives and projects and a tree plantation drive symbolising the department's commitment to sustainability.
The academic session was formally initiated with a warm welcome speech by Dr Kazi Tanvir Mahmud, Chairman of the Department of Economics. Special Guest Professor Dr Mohammed Helal Uddin from the University of Dhaka presented a thought-provoking analysis on "The Impact of the July Revolution on the Economy of Bangladesh." SEU's Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Md Mofazzal Hossain, emphasised the importance of collective effort and resilience in achieving progress and prosperity. Professor Dr Md Abdul Hakim, Director of IQAC at SEU offered insights into the nuanced concept of the "Meaning of Development."
The event concluded with a colourful cultural programme, during which students from the Department of Economics showcased their talents. This marked a vibrant end to a memorable day.
