Rehabilitation activities started in Amphan-hit areas under PM’s supervision: Quader
"The biggest challenge is to fight for survival rather than celebrating Eid"
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said rehabilitation activities in cyclone Amphan-hit areas have been started under the direction and close supervision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
PM Hasina is tackling all disasters with success like previous year, said Quader, also the Road, Transport and Bridges Minister.
He came up with the remarks in a video conference from his official residence before distributing Eid gift items among the poor people at the initiative of Swechchhasebak League and Bangladesh Chhatra League at Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University.
"We are facing two challenges. Prevention and treatment of coronavirus and assistance and rehabilitation of cyclone Amphan-hit victims. Rehabilitation activities have already started already under the supervision of the prime minister," he said.
The leaders and activists of Awami League and its allies have set a rare example in relief activities in the corona crisis, said Quader.
He also urged them to stand by the helpless and needy people before observing the Eid.
"This time Eid is going to be celebrated in a different reality. The biggest challenge is to fight for survival rather than celebrating Eid. If we survive, we will all have many opportunities to celebrate Eid in the future," he said urging all to fight against coronavirus unitedly by maintaining proper health guidelines.
