Tk5.8 lakh fined for violating environmental law in Ctg
The Department of Environment (DoE) in Chattogram fined two companies Tk 5.80 lakh for violating environmental law and operating factories without renewing environmental clearances on Thursday, says a press release.
Of the companies, GPH Oxygen Plant at Kumira area of Sitakunda was fined Tk 1 lakh for not renewing its environmental clearance and Standard Lube Oil Ltd of the same area was fined Tk4.8 lakh by the Department of Environment for air pollution.
The release was signed by Mohammad Nurullah Noori, Director, Chattogram Region, Department of Environment on Thursday.
