Life, as we know it, would not have happened had it not been because of our mothers. From giving birth to shaping us as human beings, for most of us, mothers make us who we are.
This year, Mother's Day has fallen during a difficult time. The pandemic bars us from carrying out our everyday routine, let alone hold any special celebrations.
But we reached out to some of the celebrity mothers in the country, who shared their take on motherhood and what it really means for them.

I am not very keen on celebrating days such as Mother's Day or Father's Day, but I know that when our parents are well and alive, life holds more meaning for us. Especially when mothers live a long, healthy life, nothing is more precious.
Had it been a different time, I may have given my mother a gift of flowers, or something she needed, but this year I would only speak to her over the phone. It has been days since I met her.
You do not realise what motherhood is, or what being a mother feels like, unless you become one. It is not necessary to give birth, the same emotions can arise when you love or nurture someone like a mother.
After having a child, your priorities and the way you perceive the world changes. However, these do not always arise out of a sense of responsibility or obligation; you love your children because you want to.

Every year on Mother's Day, I take my mother and my children out for dinner or lunch. But this year, things are difficult for all of us, so relief will only come when the whole country is going to be free of the coronavirus.
I am assuming that my children will make me a card, and I would definitely call up my mother to wish her. I am eternally grateful to the Almighty for gifting me my mother and children.

Motherhood, I believe, is extremely empowering and when you have a child, it helps you understand your strength as a woman. However, being a mother should always be a choice and not something that is forced upon.
I always knew I wanted to be a mother and having my daughter was absolutely life changing. Words fell short from expressing my feelings when I held her for the first time.
I enjoyed every bit of my pregnancy and now, I absolutely love being a mother to my beautiful daughter. She is a sensible, kind girl who understands me very well.
