Young innovators shine at Presidency International School’s science fair
Life is fun, innovation is also fun, Professor Upama Kabir says
Presidency International School today (23 November) hosted its highly anticipated Science Fair 2024 under the theme "Think & Innovate for a Green World."
The event was an inspiring showcase of over 270 groundbreaking student projects, demonstrating the spirit of innovation, scientific curiosity, and environmental consciousness, reads a press release.
The fair featured contributions from students across a range of levels, from Classes II to A Levels, who displayed their creativity in projects ranging from renewable energy solutions to artificial intelligence-powered tools.
Each project embodied the transformative potential of science and technology in building a more sustainable and green future.
The event was presided over by Dr Imam Hasan Reza, rector of Presidency Education, and was inaugurated by the distinguished chief guest, Professor Dr Upama Kabir, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Dhaka.
Dr Kabir praised the students for their ingenuity and dedication, highlighting that "Innovation is not just about solving problems; it's about making life more meaningful and fun."
She also encouraged senior students to focus on building strong academic portfolios to pursue further studies at renowned global institutions.
The morning session of the fair featured an impressive array of science project displays. Projects on energy efficiency, biotechnology, and eco-friendly urban planning captivated attendees with their potential to solve pressing global challenges.
The evening session brought the event to a vibrant close with a cultural programme, culminating in a prize-giving ceremony.
Dr Imam Hasan Reza expressed pride in the students' achievements, stating, "This Science Fair is a testament to our students' unyielding curiosity and determination to innovate for a better future. It celebrates their potential to shape the world with science and imagination."
Awards were presented by the Professor Upama Kabir, alongside other distinguished dignitaries, including senior professors from Chittagong University, and prominent educators.
The event was also attended by key figures such as Ashraful Haque Khan Swapan, chairman of the board, Md Gulzar Alam Alamgir, member secretary, and other members of the school's academic management, along with teachers, guardians, and special guests.
The success of the Annual Science Fair 2024 highlights the school's commitment to fostering innovation and preparing the next generation of scientists, technologists, and environmental leaders.
