Khaleda holds first diplomatic meeting in recent years

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today (25 November) held a meeting with Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Issa bin Youssef Al-Duhailan, the former premier's first such meeting in recent years.
The meeting took place at Khaleda Zia's Gulshan residence at around 8:00pm after the Saudi envoy paid a courtesy call on her, BNP Media Cell Member Shairul Kabir Khan said in a press statement.
This is also the first time in almost a decade that a Saudi ambassador held a meeting with the former prime minister. Previously, on 13 September 2015, the then-Saudi ambassador Abdullah HM Al-Mutairi paid a courtesy call on Khaleda Zia at her office in Gulshan.
BNP Standing Committee Member and Khaleda's personal physician Prof Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, and BNP Chairperson's Adviser Dr Enamul Huq were also present during the meeting.
The details of what they discussed were not disclosed immediately.
