Bangladesh set an imposing target of 322 runs in the third match of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, marking their first 300-plus total in the series. The innings saw notable contributions with half-centuries from Soumya Sarkar, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahmudullah Riyad, and Zakir Ali Anik.
After opting to bat first, Bangladesh faced early trouble, losing Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Liton Das for just 9 runs. Both openers departed without opening their accounts. With the team under pressure, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Soumya Sarkar steadied the innings, delivering crucial knocks.
Soumya Sarkar showcased fluent batting, scoring 73 off 73 balls before being dismissed. Captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz stayed a little longer, contributing 77 runs off 73 deliveries. However, Afif Hossain fell cheaply for 17 off 29 balls, leaving Bangladesh in a delicate position.

Mahmudullah Riyad and Zakir Ali Anik then took charge, forming a vital partnership to anchor and accelerate the innings. The duo displayed excellent shot selection, pacing their innings perfectly. Towards the end, both Mahmudullah and Zakir unleashed aggressive strokes, propelling Bangladesh's total past 300.
Mahmudullah remained unbeaten on 84 runs off 63 balls, while Zakir finished on 62 not out from 57 deliveries. Their partnership ensured Bangladesh ended at 321/5 after 50 overs.
For West Indies, Alzarri Joseph claimed two wickets, while Gudakesh Motie and Sherfane Rutherford picked up one each.
With a solid total on the board, Bangladesh now looks forward to defending the target and securing a win in the final ODI of the series.
