Genocide, crimes against humanity: 3 cops, including ex-ADC, sent to jail

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today (28 January) sent three police officers, including Dhaka Metroplitan Police Mirpur division's former additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Moinul Islam, to jail in cases filed over genocide and crimes against humanity committed during the student movement.
The tribunal, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, passed the order showing them arrested in the cases, according to court sources.
The other two accused are Shahbagh Police Station's former officer-in-charge (operations) Mohammad Arshad Hossain and former sub-inspector Chanchal Chandra Kumar.
The court set 23 February for the next hearing regarding Arshad Hossain's case and 24 May for the other two accused.
Earlier in the day, they were produced before the tribunal.
Yesterday, the ICT issued arrest warrants for eight individuals, including six police officers. The three individuals who appeared in court today were already in custody in connection with other cases.
